Bunga Dessri is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, writer, and cultural activist from West Java, Indonesia. Her work focuses on the research, preservation, and creation of music rooted in Indonesian traditional music, particularly Sundanese traditions.She specializes in Sundanese vocals and instruments including rebab, tarawangsa, piul, tarompet penca, kacapi, suling, and gamelan. For over a decade, Bunga has advocated for gender equality in Sundanese Karawitan through artistic practice, research, education, and community work.Bunga is the Chairwoman of the Puspa Karima Foundation and Director of the Kacapaesan Research Centre, both focusing on cultural empowerment, research, and advocacy.
